Why this supplier?
The Oswald family is based in the heart of Austria’s most important fruit-growing region, in Maierhof in Eastern Styria.
Great importance is attached to high-quality raw materials and sustainable production.
Mainly regional fruit from Styria is processed.
However, the family also knows the producers of fruit imported from Poland, Ukraine and Romania personally and is regularly on site.
So we know where our fruit comes from and we appreciate the philosophy of the Oswald family, which harmonizes perfectly with our values such as responsible use of resources and the high quality of natural raw materials.
Why this supplier?
Martina and Christoph from Brandlbauern in Saalfelden are passionate about preserving the “Pinzgauer Strahlenziege”.
Although the robust and frugal animals have been native to Pinzgau for centuries,
they are now almost extinct and belong to the highly endangered domestic breeds.
In comparison, the milk has a very mild taste and is high in vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
Martina also uses it to make goat’s cheese balls and yogurt.
We really like Martina and Christoph’s initiative and use the milk for our goat’s cheese ice cream with caramel balsamic vinegar!
Why this supplier?
The fields surrounding the Gressl family’s “Waldviertler Mohnhof” have been home to exquisite poppy varieties for many years.
With honest craftsmanship and knowledge that has grown over generations
Thomas Hartlieb and his team focus on the naturalness of the products and elicit the genuine, exquisite taste of the healthy raw materials.
The strict focus on sustainable cultivation methods and regional production
supports our goal of using only natural and high-quality ingredients.
Why this supplier?
VanilleWorld stands for quality and premium vanilla from Uganda.
We came across this supplier through the non-profit organization Rwenzori e.V..
The aim of Rwenzori is to implement projects to promote rural development in Uganda.
The long-standing and trusting cooperation between the association and the local population has created a good basis for exporting the fairly produced premium vanilla to Europe.
In close cooperation with local partners, the non-profit association has already built a secondary school, is reforesting the Rwenzori Mountains and has been supporting the construction of an agricultural school since 2020.
Further information and projects can be found at Verein Rwenzori e.V.
VanilleWorld.com stands for:
Daniel Egger from Saalfelden delivers the plump, shiny pods with their beguiling aroma to our door.
He started cooperating with VanilleWorld during the Corona period and has the product sent directly to Zell am See by post.
It couldn’t be fresher!
It is important to us that VanilleWorld contributes to improving the living conditions of local farmers through sustainable and fair trade practices.
The focus on organic cultivation fits perfectly with our philosophy of naturalness and social responsibility.
Why this supplier?
The best hazelnuts in the world grow in beautiful Piedmont.
They are prized for their intense aroma and low bitter content, making them ideal for our famous hazelnut ice cream and nougat ice cream!
We chose to work with Noccioleria – the Rapalinos are a sympathetic, down-to-earth family whose way of working fits in perfectly with our philosophy and who offer outstanding, IGP-certified quality.
The 30-hectare Azienda Agricola Rapalino was founded by the grandfather of the current owner, Saverio Rapalino. was founded.
Since 2011, the family has not only been producing hazelnuts, but also processing them directly on their own farm.
This means that the entire production process is in the family’s hands – from organic planting and drying to the various roasting processes and the gentle production of hazelnut purée.
The Rapalino family attaches great importance to closeness to nature, sustainability and tradition and relies on minimal use of chemicals and organic fertilization.
The hazelnuts are therefore not only particularly natural and environmentally friendly – they also taste incredibly good!
Why this supplier?
The Hartlieb family is the 3rd generation to produce high-quality, cold-pressed oils in Heimschuh in Styria.
The pumpkins for “our” pumpkin seed oil and the pumpkin seeds grow around the manufactory and are gently processed into pumpkin seed oil.
processed into “green gold”.
You can see the family’s production methods and philosophy for yourself on site – a visit to the Hartlieb kernel oil museum is well worth it!
The sustainable production methods and the use of local, high-quality raw materials make Hartlieb an ideal partner in terms of our commitment to naturalness, quality and the environment.
Why this supplier?
This manufactory is known for its handmade chocolate and praline specialties.
Since 1992, it has been committed to sustainable sourcing by purchasing “Fino de Aroma” fine flavor cocoa beans directly from Colombian farmers at fair prices without intermediaries and using them to produce the best chocolate, cocoa and cocoa butter.
Confiserie Dengel’s local partner in Colombia reliably ensures that the money is paid directly to the cocoa farmers.
Uwe Dengel also works with the regional milk cooperative “Sternenfair” and uses organic raw materials such as top-quality cane sugar from Paraguay.
In this way, they actively contribute to fair and sustainable production conditions.
For over 40 years and now in its third generation, the Benvenuto family has been producing and processing nuts and fruit, especially hazelnuts from Piedmont. They are known among gourmets all over the world and are considered to be the best and tastiest of all. The queen of hazelnuts is the Tonda Gentile Trilobata variety.

Stefan Nothdurfter’s juicy, sweet Stanzer Zwetschken plums grow on a sunny plateau in Tyrol, 1000 meters above sea level. This very special variety loves the dry alpine climate. The south-facing slopes of the orchards, countless hours of sunshine, the large differences in temperature between day and night, high mineral content, as well as the hair dryer, characterize the particularly intense aroma of the Stanzer Zwetschke.
We are not only in love with the special taste, but above all with the color it gives our ice cream.
This plateau is the highest fruit-growing region in Europe and has even been awarded the title “Genuss Region Stanzer Zwetschke” by the Austrian Ministry of Life.
Bernadette and Martin Lohninger from the Häusl organic farm in the neighborhood supply us with yoghurt and buttermilk, which are delivered fresh to the manufactory every day. The open barn offers the cows outdoor exercise all year round, antibiotics are only used in emergencies and transportation routes are kept as short as possible.
A large photovoltaic system ensures the sustainable operation of the farm, with which they would soon like to be self-sufficient in terms of energy.
We appreciate the loving and organic husbandry of the cows, the short distance of the dairy products from the farm to us, as well as the Lohninger family themselves :)
Biohof Häusl is a member of BIO AUSTRIA.
Together with his wife Anna, Johann Lugmayr grows the best organic rhubarb on around 15 hectares. Although the intensely reddish vegetable is a grateful plant for organic cultivation, it is not easy to cultivate. Rhubarb is only harvested up to a fixed date, June 24, so that the canes can recover well after the harvest. The soil is also very stressed and therefore needs a new crop after a few years. Carrots, spinach, peas and runner beans thus grow on Johann Lugmayr’s fields in an organic circular economy.
The rhubarb stalks are harvested by hand from April to June. Rhubarb is at its tastiest when the year brings a cold winter and a warm spring.
Connoisseurs also call it Austria’s “best apricot”.
Around 35,000 trees of the ”Hungarian Beast” thrive on around 110 hectares in the wonderful Pannonian climate between the Danube and Lake Neusiedl. Unmistakably juicy fruits that can be recognized from afar by their size and bright color alone.
The harvest usually lasts from early to mid-July. At this time of year, the 2,000-strong community of Kittsee near the Slovakian capital Bratislava is buzzing with activity. Not only because of the harvest, but also because the apricots are sold on two stalls in the middle of the village.
The ”Kittseer Marille” brand has been protected since 2004 to prevent apricots that do not originate from the Genussregion from being sold under the name ”Kittseer Marille”.
On their organic farm in Saalfelden, Karin and Ernst Mosshammer pay particular attention to naturalness and diversity. Nature is the best guide for animal-friendly cattle husbandry, which is why the husbandry conditions are adapted to the needs of the cows and not vice versa. The cows are allowed to keep their horns, have access to the outdoors all year round and are provided with 100% species-appropriate feed – green fodder, hay, fermented hay and alfalfa. Grass or clover silage is not used at all. The use of concentrated feed is also unnecessary, as the feed is versatile and nutritious due to the high biodiversity of the meadows. This has a positive effect on the health of the herd – in some years, the Gruberhof manages completely without medication.
By consistently increasing biodiversity in the fields, Karin and Ernst have also discovered their love of butterflies and have been creating specific habitats to promote biodiversity for years. Very rare species have returned to the Gruberhof, as well as bees, bumblebees, birds, frogs and much more. gratefully accept the offer. Animals and humans alike benefit from the increasingly intact nature on the farm. Healthy cows give us healthy and tasty milk, which we process with great pleasure into our very special ice cream in our Misssi Manufaktur.
Send us your details and our iron angels will get back to you.
